Assam Institute of Mass Communication & Media Research, a premier institution of Assam catering the needs of professional manpower in the field of Journalism & Mass Communication was established on 5th September, 2007 by SANKALPA EDUCATION SOCIETY, regd. under S. R. Act XXI of 1860, (Regd. No. RS/KAM/240/A-8/518 OF 2007).

News & Events:

• Assam Institute of Mass Communication & Media Research organized its the 2nd Foundation Day Lecture of the on 5th September, 2009. The Lecture was delivered by noted educationist & theatre personality Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury on the topic “Mass Communication and its prospect in career”. At the same function the 3rd edition of SANKALPA – a newspaper by AIMCMR students also released by the noted film maker Mr. Jahnu Barua.
